The piercing should not be soaped up directly but while showering and sudsy water washes over the ear piercing there should be nothing to worry about. 

Avoid touching your piercing  

Touching your piercings may be an easy way of contracting infections, however to avoid any risks, the pierced areas should only be touched during cleaning but with cleaned hands.

In the healing process some bruising, secretion of a whitish-yellow fluid which will form crust on the jewelry but not pus and itching may occur. This is normal as the tissue around the jewelry is tightening as it heals.
